Urology

Offering all new, state-of-the art equipment, Fremont Surgery Center takes advantage of the newest and best techniques to help in the diagnosis and cure of urologic problems such as kidney stones, male infertility, enlarged prostate and bladder conditions.

As a large center for the treatment of kidney stones, we are one of very few surgery facilities or hospitals in the area to own an Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy (ESWL) machine as well as laser lithotripsy equipment.  That means no waiting for patients to get relief from the severe pain of kidney stones.

Superior microscopic surgical equipment enables us to treat male infertility through vasovasostomy, a procedure by which vasectomies are reversed.

Fremont Surgery Center maintains on site a holmium laser, which is specially designed for use in the treatment of a diverse spectrum of urological problems, such as stone disease, bladder lesions and penile disorders.

Laser therapy and other delicate procedures involving the prostate require a green light laser, which is also available here.

Furthermore, Fremont Surgery Center is licensed to perform radioactive seed implantation so that patients with prostate cancer can receive less invasive brachytherapy treatment.

As an independent surgery center, we are able to accommodate patients at their convenience.

The urologists who practice at Fremont Surgery Center are the most experienced and respected in our area.

Extracorporeal Shockwave Lithotripsy
In extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) high-energy sound waves pass through the body without injuring it and break a kidney stone into small pieces. The small pieces can then move through the urinary tract and out of the body more easily than a large stone.

Delicate procedures involving the prostate
One delicate procedure involving the prostate is TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate).  TURP may be recommended if symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) have not improved in response to home treatment and medicines.  When indicated, Fremont Surgery Center offers treatment using a green light laser, which speeds recovery.

Brachytherapy treatment
Brachytherapy, sometimes called seed implantation, is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure used in the treatment of prostate cancer. Radioactive “seeds” are carefully placed inside of the cancerous tissue and positioned in a manner that will attack the cancer most efficiently.  Brachytherapy has the same cure rates as conventional surgical removal of the prostate, but with low risk of the adverse side effects associated with conventional surgical removal.
